Basic Requirements for Servo System Performance

1) High Precision. The precision of a servo system refers to the accuracy with which the output reproduces the input.

2) Good Stability. Stability refers to the system's ability to reach a new or return to its original equilibrium state after a short adjustment process under a given input or external disturbance.

3) Rapid Response. Response speed is a crucial indicator of the dynamic quality of a servo system, reflecting its tracking accuracy.

4) Wide Speed Range. The speed range refers to the ratio between the relatively high and relatively low speeds required by the motor in production machinery.

5) High Torque at Low Speeds. In servo control systems, constant torque control is typically required at low speeds, where the motor can provide a large output torque; constant power control is required at high speeds, where the output power is sufficient.

6) Capable of Frequent Starts, Braking, and Forward/Reverse Switching.

Types of Servo Systems

Based on the different servo drivers, servo systems can be divided into three types: electric, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Based on function, they can be divided into metering servo and power servo systems, analog servo and power servo systems, position servo systems, speed servo systems, and acceleration servo systems, etc. Based on electrical signals, electric servo systems can be divided into DC servo systems and AC servo systems. AC servo systems come in two types: induction motor servo systems and permanent magnet synchronous motor servo systems.
